'This is Getting Awkward'

6/14/2026

Howdy! How's it hanging? You doing okay, Mr. Imaginary viewer that I know doesn't exist at the time of writing? Hope you're doing good.

I think I'm gonna strive to do these little updates around once a month. Just wanted to... slide that into here so I didn't have to do it later. Anyway!

Here are some cool things I've do since the last log.

So, to start, I made a mod for Open Fortress! Pretty simple, just me over one of the announcers. I had an

afternoon where the house was empty enough that I could improv without feeling embarrassed, and thus the mod was made. 247 or so voicelines of me yammerin' on. Amazing.

This is the first time in a LONG while that I've tried my hand at actually like... MODDING modding a game and giving it to the public. Felt pretty nervous about

it, to be honest! Seems to have gone well, though, so that's nice. I'm planning on making it a separate announcer instead of just replacing, but apart from that,

I'm pretty content with it. Hopefully this is the start of me getting more into actual mod creation as opposed to simply modding games to death.

What else, what else, ah! Halo. I've been on a bit of Halo binge as of late. In typical 'me' fashion I bought the Master Chief Collection like... two Christmases ago?

Aaaaaaaaaaaand only NOW have I actually decided to come back and give the Halo franchise a whirl. And while I've already had most of the original trilogy's story spoiled,

lemme tell ya, I've been having a blast. Halo: Reach, Halo: ODST, Halo: Combat Evolved, I get why people grieve for the Halo franchise. The animations are smooth, the sound

design is godlike, character and weapon designes are memorable and... well, I'm sure I don't need to tell you Halo's soundtrack is awesome. 11/10 stuff. Hopefully I'll have

more to say about Halo in the future in a dedicated post.

Uh, next up (gosh, I need to get a proper format for these) is the T'au! I've also been nerding out over Warhammer again recently, and, for the first time, I'm considering

playing the tabletop game. My relationship with Warhammer has mainly just been listening to loredumps on YouTube and occasionally painting Space Marines. But after windowshopping

the Gamesworkshop online store and spotting the T'au Broadside Suit, I was hooked. The T'au Empire's culture, too, fascinates me quite a bit. While my understanding of

the T'au empire comes from its codex and the Lexicanum, there's something about them that just... scratches an itch that the Imperium just doesn't. Their naming system,

their technological vibe, the sense of... individuality they give their planets, the shady, subtle schemes of the Water Caste and the Etherals... All A-tier stuff for me.

Not much more to say beyond that at the moment, unfortunately. I think I'm gonna start investing more into creating little sections where I talk about a specific interest

of mine rather than just broad-strokes what I've been up to.

And finally, RimWorld! Currently on a new run of RimWorld and it is going surprisingly well! I was feeling a bit silly and slapped together a modpack with a bunch of

multimedia faction mods along with some minor gameplay improvements. I'm on day 150 or so at the moment, and I'm currently making plans to start up a cloning facility

so the colony can start fighting back against local neighbors. There are plenty of interesting xenotypes for my mad scientist colonist to take a look at. I'm specifically

hoping to get my hands on some Combine transhumans, Astartes and Sangheili.

Anyway, that's what I've been up to as of late. As previously stated, I'm going to start documenting what I do in dedicated posts as opposed to these journalistic

overviews of what I've been doing in my freetime. In any case, this has been Hatteras1337, Entry number eight, 'This is Getting Awkward,' over.
